Kakinda, Dec 14th: The second anniversary celebration of Badam Balakrishna Eye Bank was grandly organized on Sunday at eye bank premises located at N.F.C.L road. The eye bank is established under Kakinada Eye Foundation. The persons who were blessed with eye sight through the eye foundation also took part in the anniversary celebrations.
Speaking on the occasion charitable trust chairman Prasad praised the services done by the trust and added that, eye donation is the best service done to the society. Netranidhi Chairman Badam Balakrishna said that 198 corneas were colleted in the last two years and 48 persons were successfully operated for eye sight.
Balakrishna said that the bank was established with a committee of 19 trustees. He invited donations from the people to extend the services and providing latest equipment for the bank. Later he said the white card holders will be operated freely at Nayana, Srikiran and D.V Raju eye hospitals.
The Kakinada eye foundation has honored the Satya Bhaskara committee chairman, Sriramula Somprasad for giving donations to the eye bank construction. Nayana Sriram, Datla Ravi, S.V Rao. D. Sankhar Rao and many more participated in the celebrations.
