Forum for Dalit studies, organized a National Level Conference for the implementation of Dr. B.R.Ambedkar's aims and principles at Ambedkar Bhavan here on 24th of October. Chief Architect of the Indian Constitution, Dr. Ambedkar’s grandson Dr.M.Anand Teltumbde, Famous Civil Liberties Activist chaired the Conference. RK Kale and Bala Mungekar (former MP), professors from Gujarat Central University are participated as chief guests. The National Conference would focus on rights of Dalits, their problems in the wake of globalization and Government measures for upliftment of Dalits. JNTU-K Vice Chancellor, Dr. Allam Apparao, Collector, Mr. M.Ravi Chandra, Joint Collector, K.Sasidhar, Prof. Arun Kumar from Andhra University and all other Dalit members are participated in the conference. Dr.Teltumbde spoke on how the Congress party in Andhrapradesh treacherously suppressed the Dalit voice, and how and why Dalits have digressed from the essence of Dr. Ambedkar's ideas. He also stated that Dr.B.R.Ambedkar was not only a Dalit Leader, he was also an peoples leader because he fought against social discrimination of the people in the country not only for the specific caste.
