Kakinada, April 19th: The election authorities have made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the phase II elections in the district which was scheduled to be organized on April 23<sup>rd</sup>. Nearly 8,000 police forces were drawn from both state and central agencies to organize polls in a free and fair manner. At a total 18 Assembly segments and 3 parliamentary constituencies will go to polls on the day.
According to the District Election Officer, Mr Gopala Krishna Dwevedi, paramilitary forces were deployed in 200 identified vulnerable areas in the district. Out of which 100 are identified as hyper sensitive areas and 100 as sensitive areas. In addition to this police forces, 200 micro observers with video cameras are appointed in these areas to keep a close watch on the movement of the voters. Nearly 8,000 Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) were put in use in all these 18 Assembly segments and 3 parliament constituencies.
