Kakinada, May 14th: The district election authorities have made elaborate arrangements for organizing counting on May 16. The administration has given special attention to vulnerable areas in the district which were already identified. The district went to polls in two phases on April 16 and 23 and in Yanam Assembly segment of Pondicherry Lok Sabha constituency on May 13. Election authorities have introduced centralized system of counting and with this the entire counting process of East Godavari district will be taken at Kakinada in five different centers.
District Election Officer (DEO), sought the cooperation of party representatives and leaders in organizing the counting in a smooth manner. He said that the counting process starts at 8am on Saturday and by 12 noon the results are likely to be out. The counting staff and agents will not be permitted into counting center failing to show identity cards and they are prohibited in carrying mobile phones into counting centers.
East Godavari district SP. Ms Charu Sinha said that every counting center will have a DSP cadre officer to supervise counting. She made it clear that victory rallies will be permitted as per the guidelines issued by the election commission. She revealed that video cameras were arranged at each counting center and any one suspected will be taken into custody immediately.
