AITUC Celebrated May Day

AITUC State secretary Kirla Krishna Rao said on Saturday that the year 2010 was dedicated to fight for the rights of workers in the unorganized sector who have been making invaluable contribution for the country's progress. The unorganized sector workers have been struggling for better wages and working conditions but the governments did nothing except showing sympathy, he observed while addressing a public meeting near the municipal corporation office here on the occasion of May Day. Nearly 39 Cr workers in the unorganized sector were languishing in poverty due to the lack of minimum wages and other social security benefits, while the successive governments continued to boast of policy measures which rarely delivered the desired results due to a variety of reasons.
