Kakinada, Mar 3^rd: Under the leadership of I.F.T.U, rice mill workers belonging to various mandals in the East Godavari district organized demonstration and later staged dharna at district collectorate on Tuesday, demanding the government to provide better working conditions. To bring stress on the government for solving the long term demands made by them, the workers staged dharna for more than 3 hours. Nearly 2,500 workers took part in demonstration. They alleged that even after the frequent demands made by them the authorities are not showing any interest in solving the same.

Speaking on the occasion one of the representatives of I.F.T.U alleged that neither the revenue department nor the labour department or taking any steps for the betterment of the working conditions of the workers. He demanded the government to organize a meeting comprising of workers and the authorities to solve all the long term demands. Later the workers submitted a memorandum to the district revenue officer Mr. Mohanraju. Mr. Raju assured the workers for suitable action. Correspondent of mill workers federation Mr. Venkateswara Rao, I.F.T.U members J. Venkateswarlu, C. Venkateswarlu, Dhana Raju, N. Srinu and others participated.
