Additional amenities to KGH

Kakinada, July 18th: The Kakinada government general hospital (KGGH) is being equipped with additional amenities worth Rs 5 crore to meet the needs of patient care. The hospital know for its super specialty care in some departments is being provided with additional facilities in the Gynecology, urology, orthopedics and other departments. As part of this, six dialysis machines worth Rs 40 lakh were sanctioned for the hospital under the Rajiv Arogyasri Program. The forensic department was equipped with a modern mortuary with Rs 90 lakh which functions under Rangaraya Medical College.

 

In addition to this CT scan equipment is being installed with an expenditure of Rs 1.02 crore. The funds were being raised from various sources. Of this total, Rs 50 lakh was donated by the AMG International, another Rs 50 lakh as sanctioned by the director of medical education and remaining Rs 20 lakh was pooled from the buy back of old Cardio Thoracic equipment by the supplier. In addition to this the renovation of ENT, Psychiatric and ophthalmic wards in both government general hospital and RMC was taken up with a cost of Rs 3 crore, the authorities are also planning to procure MRI scan equipment worth Rs 4 crore.
