The Samaikyandhra stir crossed 55 days. But there is no change in the agitation in the City. All the protesters are continuing their hunger fasts, rallies, human chains, etc.,. APNGOs, Employees, Students, Teachers, Doctors, Advocates and many other sections participated in this novel protest.
As a part of this ongoing agitation, the Women APNGO of East Godavari District observed 'Bathukamma' festival. They weared cultural dresses and performed special pujas to Bathukamma requesting united state 'Samaikyandhra'.
The Government Doctors in East Godavari District have decided to continue the present mode of one-hour boycott of out patient (OP) services till 30th of September. According to this, the Association District President Dr. M. Raghavendra Rao had released a press note here, saying, the future course of agitation will be decided at a meet on 30th September 2013.
The District Irrigation Department Engineers Association have decided to join the Samaikyandhra stir from 7th October midnight onwards. According to this, they have met the District Collector Mrs. Neetu Kumari Prasad on Wednesday and served the strike notice here.
The District Teachers JAC is going to observe 'Poru Nidhra' program on Thursday night in support to the Samaikyandhra agitation. According to this, the JAC leaders had released a press note here, saying that the program would be held from Thursday night 8pm to Friday morning 6am.
