Acid attack on two married women

Guntur, June 18th: The acid attacks on women again strike in the state on Thursday. Jilted lovers attacked on two married women with acid in Nujendla and Medikonduru mandals of Guntur district in separate disputes relating to extra marital relationship.  Police filed the cases in both the incidents and started investigation.

 

In the first incident, Devineni Lakshmi, 28 of Mrutyanjayapuram village of Najendla mandal is having an extra marital relationship with Venkateswarlu for the last few years. But from last few months Lakshmi refused to see him and this enraged the lover. He came to her house on Wednesday and splashed acid on her while she was sleeping. Venkateswarlu is also married.

 

In another incident, Mrs. Nabi, a married women belonging to Perecharla village of Medikonduru was attacked by her lover, Mannava Kumar a laborer on Thursday night. Nabi who has separated from her husband and Kumar who had neglected his wife had become lovers a while ago. A heated argument took between the both on Thursday and Kumar attacked her with acid and fled the village.
