ACB traps port officer

Kakinada, June 15th: The officials of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) trapped Kakinada port officer, Mr. Krishna Mohan while he was accepting bribe from a steel barge owner, Mr. Ahmed Alisha on Monday. According to sources provided by the ACB, Mr. Alisha sought the permission from the officer to conduct repairs to a steel barge owned by him at the port berth. His request was rejected twice on technical feasibility grounds.

 

On further request, the officer demanded Rs 2 lakh from Alisha for giving him the permission. Alisha approached the ACB officials who in turn laid a trap and caught the port officer red-handed while accepting the amount from him. ACB, Rajahmundry DSP G.S.N Murthy, circle inspectors Mr. Murali Krishna and Mr. Rama Krishna conducted raid. The officials took the port officer into custody and will produce him in ACB court at Vijayawada within 24 hours.
