ACB traps housing official

Rajahmundry, Dec 17th: The officials of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB), conducted raids and surprise visits on the office of the housing deputy engineer, G. Nookaraju and found cash worth Rs 1.50 lakh which was unaccounted here on Thursday. This was for the second time the ACB officials raided on the office of Nookaraju and a case was still pending in Visakhapatnam ACB court. The information was given to the officials by some unidentified person.

According to sources, Nookaraju was deputy engineer of Rajahmundry urban division. He was given additional charges as EE. There was information to ACB that Nookaraju was taking bribe from contractors relating to Indiramma house constructions and IHSDP. With this the officials kept a track on the movements of the engineer and on Thursday some unidentified person gave information with which they immediately raided the office of the engineer and found cash worth 1.5 lakh. As such huge amount of money was unaccounted, the ACB officials are taking up inquiry. The engineer faces allegations of accumulation of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income.
