Rajahmundry, June 29th: The officials of Anti Corruption Bureau conducted simultaneous raids on the properties of an excise sub-inspector K.V Ramana and found properties worth Rs 2 crore in market. The ACB sleuths led by DSP, Mr. G.S.N Murthy on Monday raided the properties of Mr. Ramana and found that the SI presently working at AP Beverages Corporation depot was in possession of three plots at Kakinada, four plots in Rajahmundry and Rajanagaram, one each at Anakapalli and Hyderabad.
The officials also found a four storey commercial building at Kakinada, one flat each at Rajahmundry and Kakinada and 1.5 acre land at Turangi near Kakinada.Bank balance worth Rs 1.59 lakh deposited in the name of SI and his wife, Rs 10,000 cash at home, 10 sovereigns of gold and Rs 3.5 lakh worth furniture. Mr. Murthy said that the raids were also conducted simultaneously at kin and friends. He also said that further probe over the issue will be done on the issue with the accused saying that the property was inherited from his parents and was not his own. The SI was arrested and will be produced in ACB court in Vijayawada.
