Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has called for a bandh of government, private and corporate schools on 21st June in the district, deploring commercialisation of education and exorbitant fees. According to this, ABVP National Committee Member Mr. Manikanta had released a press note here on Wednesday. Speaking on this, he criticized that the government was neglecting the education sector and private, corporate schools were ruling the roost. He demanded the government for regulation of unchecked tuition and other fees collected by private schools. He also demanded introduction of a common fee structure to curb fleecing of lakhs of rupees from students’ parents, strict enforcement of Right To Education Act, 25 per cent quota for poor students in accordance with the Supreme Court directions and supply of adequate textbooks.
