Aarogyasri to get Patent Right soon

Hyderabad, Nov 30th: Aarogyasri, the unique health insurance scheme of the State government for the poor, is all set to receive the Intellectual Property Right (IPR) for the online workflow developed by the trust. This was informed to Chief Minister K. Rosaiah, while he was reviewing the scheme with Minister for Aarogyasri P. Satyanarayana, Chief Executive Officer, Aarogyasri Health Care Trust, A. Babu, and other officials on Sunday Nov 29.

The Trust had applied for the IPR and was likely to get it any time. Once it got the IPR, the trust could hire/transfer the online copyright of the scheme to any healthcare insurance organization, States or nation on a cost basis. Mr. Rosaiah said the government was giving top priority to the scheme and directed the trust to further strengthen the scheme by plugging loopholes and emphasized the need to improve the performance of State-run hospitals under the scheme.

The Aarogysri Trust, at its latest board meeting, decided to charge consultation fee for various services provided to other States/ agencies who wanted to implement a similar scheme. The board meeting also decided to facilitate collection of donations from philanthropists/organizations online through web portal and collect application fee from hospitals requesting for empanelment.
