Rajiv Awas Yojana scheme introduced by UPA Government had completed 80% of the survey on slum areas under Kakinada Corporation. Government has introduced this scheme to create a slum free India within five years. The survey was to find out the slum dwellers in the corporation by the team of Indira Kranthi Scheme. In this survey, the team has declared that total 101 slum dwellers are located in 81 areas in and around Kakinada. According to this, In-Charge Commissioner Satya Kumari passed orders to the survey team to submit the total report before 20th of the May.
