Hyderabad, Sep 6th: Seven new swine flu cases were reported in the city on Sunday. Doctors at the chest hospital said none of the patients admitted at the hospital are in a critical condition. The coordinator of the chest hospital refused to accept that the government has failed in its attempts to check the spread of the HINI virus. The district medical and health officer (DHMO), Dr. Ch. Jayakumari said all medical officers posted in 72 health centers in the district are conducting awareness programs to check the spread of the virus.

Patients arriving at the Chest Hospital for getting them screened for the virus were unsure if they were suffering from common flu or the HINI influenza. Despite advertising campaigns by the government regarding the symptoms of flu and how it is different from other ailments, the people are unable to identify the HINI influenza from other flu. “We have spread the awareness about the advantages of wearing a mask and washing hands three to four times a day. These precautions are also taken up by the medical staff handling such cases sot that they are not affected by the virus”, said Dr. Subhakar.
