The Excise Superintendent Mr. I.Venkat Rao has announced that they have arrested 7 persons on the charges of transporting illicit liquor and selling it under Kakinada Prohibition Excise limits, here on Monday. According to this, he had released a press note, here. He said that the officials conducted raids in all the major areas in view of the panchayat elections in the district. On this, Yesterday, the officials found 7 helf for manufacturing arrack meant for contesting candidates of Panchayat Elections in the district, he said. 'The officials recovered and seized two motorcycles, 260 liters of arrack and 5500 liters of jaggery wash from the accused. They also seized five liquor bottles from the accused', he added. He remembered the electoral candidates not to encourage the illegal transport of liquor during the election period.
