The 65th Republic Day was grandly celebrated, here on Sunday at Kakinada Police Parade grounds. The celebrations were started by singing of National Anthem and patriotic songs by the students of various schools in the city. The District Collector Mrs. Neetu Kumari Prasad as a chief guest, unfurled the tri-colour National Flag and took the salute. The celebrations were grandly observed with the impressive march-past by the NCC cadets and extraordinary performances of schools students. In this customary speech, the Collector said that the district has seen growth in all aspects. She stated 'it is very proud that our district got first position in many aspects like Aadhaar enrollment, Aadhaar Bank linkage & DBT scheme implementation'. She has remembered that our district got received the National level Good Governance award. She has discussed about the execution of Student Scholarships, Social Pensions, Janani Suraksha Yojana, Upadi Hami, Child Labour act projects in the district. 'We are first to implement all the schemes successfully', she added. Later, she has explained the action plan of the district for this year. The Collector felicitated freedom fighter Sri Chodipalli Hanumantha Rao on this occasion. The collector gave away prizes to the best employees from various departments in the district. All the government schemes, which are implementing in the district were displayed with artificial equipments in these celebrations for the awareness of public. District SP Mr. Siva Sankar Reddy, Joint Collector Mr. R.Muthyala Raju, APSP Commandant Mr. Rajesh Kumar, Additional Joint Collector (AJC) Mr. D.Markhandeyulu and many other officials from the district were participated in this program. The ceremony culminated with the National Anthem and the release of colorful balloons.
