Rajahmundry, Aug 11th: “Rajahmundry Run” will be organized on August 15 from Pushkar ghat here at 7 am to bring awareness among the people about the historical and cultural significance of the city, said municipal commissioner K. Manik Raj. Speaking to the media persons here on Tuesday, he said that students from various schools and colleges will participate in the run and would cover historical places including old railway bridge, Kandukuri Veeresalingam house, Town Hall and Damerla Rama Rao Art gallery.

The municipal commissioner said cloth merchant Bommana Rajkumar is sponsoring the Rajahmundry run. He said an elocution and essay writing competitions were conducted for students on the topic ‘Rajahmundry Grand City of Culture”. Final competitions will be conducted on August 12 at Anam Kalakendra and conference hall of Municipal Corporation. Class VIII and above and college students can take part in the run.
