4 killed in fire mishap

Kakinada, Sep 27th: Four persons of a family, Maridamma (40), G. Vijay (24), G. Pedababu and V. Sravani (18) died in the fire mishap that took place here on Sunday at main market. And another person G. Babji was seriously injured when crackers being made by them for Vijayadasami and Deepavali festivals, accidentally caught fire, which resulted in the explosion of a gas cylinder. The house in which fire crackers were being made was attached to a grocery shop belonging to G. Syamala. She escaped narrowly with minor injuries.

Social Welfare Minister Mr.  Pilli Subhaschandra Bose said the families of those killed in blast would be given compensation under ‘Apadbandhu’ scheme and financial assistance extended from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, to others who are not eligible for help under ‘Apadbandhu’. Mr. Bose along with Collector Gopalakrishna Dwivedi, Zilla Parishad Chairman Ch. Venugopala Krishna, Superintendent of Police Y. Nagi Reddy, Joint Collector K. Sasidhar and Kakinada City MLA Dwarampudi Chandrasekhar Reddy have called on Babji at the Government General Hospital here on Monday. On the occasion, Mr. Bose ordered the SP Mr. Nagi Reddy to conduct a comprehensive inquiry to find out facts and take necessary action against those responsible for incident.
