East Godavari District Authorities have grandly celebrated the 3rd National Voters Day here on Friday, January 25. The program was held under the chairmanship of District Additional Joint Collector Mr. B. Ramarao here, at Mc Laurin High School in Kakinada. According to this, the District Collector Mrs. Neethu Kumari Prasad started the program by lighting the lamp (Jyothiprajwalana) here. District Additional Judge Mr. Durga Rao had presided over the program as a chief guest. Speaking on this, he stated that every individual, who are eligible should utilise their vote, as it is the primary right that was introducted by the great Indian Constitution. He stressed that youth should use the vote right to change the country's fate. JNTU-K Vice Chancellor Dr. Tulasi Ram Das has stated that every one should be responsible to elect a right person as leader for the country. District Election Officer and Collector, Mrs. Neethu Kumari Prasad said, the voter registration is a continuous process. We are conducting a special program on Voters registration Today in all polling stations in the district, she added. District SP Mr. Siva Sankar Reddy has said that the registration of vote is not enough, but he/she should utilise their vote. Additional Joint Collector Mr. B. Ramarao stated that the Ballot is most powerful than Bullet. Later, all the officials presented awards to the students, who won in the competitions held as a part of the program. After that, the Photo Identity cards were distributed to all the newly registered voters in the district. Senior Voter, First Parliamentarian Mr. Kaneti Mohan Rao and Freedom Fighter Mr. Chodipalli Hanumantha Rao were been felicitated in the program by all the officials. APSP Commandant Mr. Rajesh Kumar, Commercial Tax dept Deputy Commissioner Posami Basu, RDO Mr. Jawaharlal Nehru and all other respective officials participated in this program.
