Chennai Army Recruitment Zone Deputy Director-General Brigadier, Mr. Pankaj Sinha stated there is increase in the number of the selected candidates into the Army year by year from Andhra Pradesh. Expressing happiness that this is a good sign he said that at all India level, 7.2 per cent of the personnel were from Andhra Pradesh alone. Addressing media persons during his review of the recruitment rally here on Friday, Mr.Sinha said that worlds major Army Force, Indian Army is playing a huge role in providing employment in country.  Referring to the salary and benefits being offered by the Indian Army to the selected candidates, Mr. Sinha said that besides offering attractive pay packets, the Army was also providing facilities like free accommodation, medical and education facilities to the family members of its employees. Mr. Sinha said that 33,000 youngsters from Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari and Krishna Districts and the Union Territory of Yanam appeared and 1,246 candidates qualified for medical tests in the first four days. Online written test for selecting soldiers into the Indian Army will be conducted from January he added. Mr. Sinha observed that aspirants from Andhra Pradesh were lagging behind with regard to physical fitness, as compared to their counterparts in Tamil Nadu. He suggested that besides practicing running, the aspirants would have to focus on their physical fitness as well. Additional Joint Collector Mr. B. Rama Rao, Deputy Superintendent of Police Mr. B.
