Kakinada, Feb 25th: Kakinada municipal commissioner, Mr. G.S.N Murthy suspended three bill collectors for the delay in the collection of payments pertaining to property taxes. The commissioner was very serious about the issue as only 40% of the taxes were collected till now as the financial year is going to close by the month of March. In addition to this the commissioner gave show cause notices to five revenue inspectors.
With the repeated warning given to the officers for collection of pending bills, the same were negligent towards the bill collection. Irrated over the delay and negligence towards the work, the commissioner on Tuesday issued orders for the suspension of the bill collectors Eswarrao, Omkar and Pradhamarao. In this concern the commissioner ordered to take all measures to clear the pending bills by the end of March. He asked to conduct special drive to collect Rs 25 lakh per day. He appealed the public to extend their support by paying the bills in time.
