3 arrested in bank robbery case

Kakinada, Nov 8th: An employee of an ICICI Bank whose ATM missed Rs 14.47 lakh was reportedly arrested by police who recovered a large amount of the stolen money from him. Police also took two of his friends into custody for their involvement in the case and arrested them. According to sources, the bank manager Mr. P. Ramesh lodged a complaint with Peddapuram police on November 3 that nearly Rs 14.47 lakh was stolen from his bank’s ATM.

Based on the compliant, police led by the deputy superintendent of police (DSP), Mr. M.V Ramana Rao started investigating. They found that their suspect was one of the employees of the bank. He deposited Rs 18 lakh on October 27 in the ATM, but did not hand over the keys to higher-ups. The latter also did not bother about this. After repeated complaints from people, the bank manager was alerted and found that the money was missing. Police further identified two more people in the case, who are said to be friends of the employee. After locating their addresses, police sent their teams there and took the two into custody. After arresting the three, police recovered the stolen amount from them.
