SP Dr. CM Trivikrama Varma stated that 296 accused were arrested in various cases during last week. He said this to news line releasing weekly report of crime. 9 were arrested in 7 robbery cases and Rs.1,80,000/- worth stolen items were possessed. At the same time, more than 272 were arrested in 79 different cases like playing cards and cockfight betting. In this arrest, Rs.2, 20,000/- worth 41 cocks, 42 cell phones, nine motor cycles, two cars and one auto were possessed. Raid was made on 10 different places and 13 accused were taken into custody. In this raid, Rs.47,500/- worth 475 liters liquor and 107 liquor bottles were possessed. Another two were arrested in some other case, he added.
