District police here on Wednesday arrested total 10 criminals who had stolen batteries from Airtel Cell Towers in East and West Godavari Districts. SP Dr. Trivikrama Varma stated that two autos and one two wheeler bike were also possessed. He said this to news line here on wednesday at press note conducted at Office. Total 289 batteries were stolen in total 17 areas in East and West Godavari Districts. Total 23 batteries from Airtel cell tower were stolen on 24th May at Mukteswaram center at Ainavilli. Company representatives complained to Ainavalli police on this. On this, police arrested a gang of 10 members after investigation. Later, 23 batteries stolen from Ainavilli were possessed. On investigation, they admitted that they had stolen 289 batteries from 17 various places in and around district. All the batteries were sold at Iron shop and therefore shop owner was also arrested. Cost of all the batteries is nearly Rs.5,12,000/- , SP added. Amalapuram DSP Sridhar, CI Srinivas Reddy, SI Yadagiri and others were present.
