The town police arrested Bandela Rajesh Kumar (27) on the charge of killing a minor girl this Monday. Rajesh Kumar was charged with raping a Xth standard student of Girl’s High School on the premises of ESI old quarters on Saturday and killing her later. According to the Town CI Mr. Ch.Ravi Kanth and S.I Mr. D.S. Chaitanya Krishna, Rajesh Kumar, a native of Kakinada met the girl at a bookstore and offered help to take her to her home. Rajesh Kumar was charged with taking the girl to the staff quarters of the ESI, which were vacant for a long time and raped her. As he feared that the girl would disclose the incident to her parents, Rajesh Kumar killed her and escaped from the spot, the police said. The issue came to the light when the family members of the girl lodged a complaint with the police about her missing. The police registered cases under Sections 302 (murder) and 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code.
