Unemployed candidates rushed at the Home guard selections tests conducted here on Monday. District SP, Mr. Trivikrama Varma released a notification to fill the 220 vacant positions in district. In the test conducted here at District Police Parade grounds, nearly 25,000 candidates attended. As Computer, Medical Compounders, Pharmacists, Heavy Vehicle Drivers, Electrician, Swimmers, AC Mechanics, Band Players, Musical Artists, Bagpiper, Civil Defence, Barbour, Dhobi, Carpenter, Plumber were given highest priority, 1000’s of candidates appeared for the selections. Nearly 15 CI’s, SI’s and 100’s of police personnel controlled the situation to avoid unwanted circumstances. At the same time, selections of 27 women home guards in Sub-jail were also conducted and 100’s of women attended for this selections. Tests were conducted separately for men and women. Under the supervision of SP Trivikrama Varma, Admin SP MJ Prasad, DSP B.Lakshmi Narayana and others examined the tests being conducted. They also verified Body measurements and medical tests. Selections were made in a complete transparent way without any recommendation. Speaking on this, SP Trivikrama Varma stated that selections of home guards are very transparent and based on candidates ability only. Selections will also be continued on Tuesday, he added. Last time, total 106 Scheduled caste candidates were selected while Mr. G.Srinivas was SP. Now, as vacant positions are 247, so large number of candidates appeared for the selections.
