Kakinada, Mar 29th: After the evolution of the poll code as many as 160 complaints were received by the collector on various poll violations. East Godavari district collector and district election officer, Mr. Gopala Krishna Dwevedi has revealed this to media on Sunday. According to collector 160 complaints were received by him and out of which 32 are from the toll free number 1100. Action on 22 was already taken.
Collector revealed that nearly 46,769 unauthorized banners and cutouts of various parties were identified in the district and ordered the concerned political parties to remove the same with in 48 hours. Party representatives neglected over the issue and the concerned authorities are forced to remove the banners on their own. Penalty to the tune of Rs 4, 65,420 on Congress, Rs 2, 83,533 on TDP, Rs 4, 05,150 on PRP, Rs 1,960 on BJP, Rs 1,970 on Loksatha, and Rs 5,103 on CPI was imposed.
Collector said that notices were issued to the parties about the payment of the penalties as soon as possible and warned to take severe action on those who fail to pay the amount. He also said that 33 unauthorized vehicles were seized by the authorities. At a total 114 vehicles were seized till now, collector revealed
