11 nominations for MLC elections

Kakinada, Jan 21st: For the MLC (Member of Legislative Council) elections that are scheduled to be conducted on February 6th, 11 candidates from both East and West districts have filed their nominations by submitting the requisition papers to the returning officer, Mr. Gopala Krishna Dwivedi. The nomination filed by Mr. D.R.K Reddy was rejected for not submitting the requisite papers. January 23rd is the day of withdrawals and on the day a final list of candidates will be revealed.

 

The election activity has gained momentum with the completion of nomination and scrutiny process on Wednesday. Among the contestants Mr. Subhash Chandra Bose was supported by the members of the teacher’s organization UTF. He is presently holding the post of state president of organization. The support of JACTO and congress is divided between Mr. K.V.V Satyanaraya Raju, chairman of Chaithanya Educational groups and the president of head masters association, Mr. I. Satyanarayana. Sources reveal that Mr. Satyanarayana will withdraw his nomination if Mr. Raju is supported by both JACTO and Congress members.
