Kakinada, July 21st: The mobile medical services of 104 were extended to welfare hostels in East Godavari from Tuesday. As part of extension of this program, 102 SC, ST, BC hostels were selected in the district. Reviewing the health protection to students in welfare hostels, the district collector, Mr. Gopala Krishna Dwevedi said in total 51 ST hostels, 32 SC hostels and 19 BC hostels are being covered under this program.
As part of this, health cards will be issue to the students and the program will be continued on monthly basis. Based on the need, students will be referred to near by hospitals for additional tests and medical examinations. Health check-up for the inmates of the remaining 200 welfare hostels will begin on July 25 at the nearest PHCs, the collector said.
