District Collector M.Ravi Chandra, in a statement here on Tuesday said that The East Godavari district administration has so far conducted 1,215 Rythu Chaitanya Yatras. These yatras involves about 1.52 lakh farmers from different parts of the district. Speaking on this occasion he said that the officials of the Agriculture Department so far collected 13,064 samples from farm fields and orchards. These samples are sent for soil tests he added. The Collector said that as many as 2,677 live models were displayed during the ‘chaitanya yatras' and the farmers were interacting with the officials, scientists and model farmers during the program.
