District Tuberculosis Control Society have conducted a Rally here on Saturday commensing 'World Tuberculosis Day - 2012' in Kakinada. According to this, District Collector, Smt. Neethi Kumari Prasad flagged off the rally at Government General Hospital, Kakinada. Nursing students from various colleges in Kakinada participated in the rally. The rally ends at Zilla Praja Parishad center and later all the nursing students had formed a human chain under the slogan 'I will control TB disease in my life'. Addressing the occasion, Smt. Neethu Kumari said TB was a controllable disease and it can be treated effectively by DOT (Directly Observed Treatment) system, introduced by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. She stated that Control of Tuberculosis is the aim of Government but even public also needed to take a part on its control. Additional Joint Collector Mr. B.Ramarao, DM&HO Dr. Vijay Kumar, RMC Principal Dr. Sriramula Naidu, Deputy Superintendent of GGH Dr.Venkata Budda and others were presided over the program.
