Social Welfare Minister, Mr. Pilli Subhash Chandrabose called upon the public to contribute their mite for the overall development of society. Addressing the ‘State Formation Day' celebrations here on Monday, Mr. Bose said that keeping the development alive in the State was the only tribute that could be paid to the leaders who sacrificed their lives for the cause of separate State. Minister observed that the mega plan with an expected outlay of Rs. 450 Cr would be providing safe drinking water to the residents of East Godavari District. Referring to the development works, Mr. Bose said that works under ‘Jalayagnam' were going on in full swing in the District and the Surampalem and Pushkara projects were already providing irrigation to the targeted extent of farm fields. The government provided farm loans to the tune of 1,180 Cr and Rs. 670 Cr long-term loans to the needy, he added. District Collector, Mr. M. Ravi Chandra, Superintendent of Police Mr. G. Srinivas, Zilla Parishad Chairman Mr. Ch. S. Venugopala Krishna and others were present.
