'Protsaham' facilities reviewed

Kakinada, Nov 21st: The education facilities extended to students admitted in corporate colleges in East Godavari under various government schemes was reviewed on Saturday by the district collector, Mr. Gopala Krishna Dwevedi. More than 1,400 students were admitted to these institutions in the last two years under Protsaham scheme which was being sponsored by the Reliance Industries and the district rural development agency (DRDA). These students were admitted to various corporate colleges at Rajahmundry and Kakinada.

Speaking on the occasion, the collector advised the representatives of these institutions to conduct special English classes, for four months every year, for the students admitted to intermediate courses. He reminded that 95 percent of these sections studied SSC in Telugu medium. He agreed to provide Eamcet study material in addition to notebooks. He also wanted the attendance  and performance reports of these sections on monthly basis. The district BC welfare officer, Mr. S.K Annapurna, DRDA, additional project director, Ms Padmavati and others were present.
