Central Government has finally implemented the new scheme, which is useful to divert students towards research from school education itself. According to The Eleventh Five Year Plan, this scheme will be continued from the year 2007 to 2012. The main objective of the Scheme named as INSPIRE (Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspire Research) is to attract talent to the study of science at an early age and thus build the required critical human resource for strengthening and expanding the Science & Technology system and R&D base. Until now, there was only scope for Degree, PG levels. One student from Primary Schools (6th and 7th classes), another student from Secondary Schools (6th, 7th and 8th) and two students from 9th and 10th classes will be selected. This will applicable to Private and Government schools. Reservation has no place here but only talent will be recognized. In District, 2400 students were recognized and 1873 students were selected.
