Kakinada, Feb 18th: The new phase of valuation called the 'challenging valuation' where the valuation of the answer sheets will be done in the presence of the student was initiated at the
Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Kakinada premises here on Thursday by the university vice chancellor, Mr. Allam Apparo. According to this new process the answer sheets of the students pertaining to the exams will be valuated in their presence. Speaking on the occasion the VC said that the decision was taken to increase the transparency and build up confidence in the students. He said that the student can opt for Challenging valuation if he has any dissatisfaction about the marks, and the same would be done in presence of him.
Director of Evaluation Dr. Satya Prasad said that out of the 8.50 lakh answers sheets this year, nearly 130 applications were received by the university pertaining to the revaluation. Out of these 108 belong to B.Tech, 12 MCA and 10 M.Tech. In the revaluation process a B.Tech student from VVR Engineering College, Guntur has passed in the exam. Commenting on this she said that the procedure was very helpful to the students and building up confidence in them. Controller of examinations, CH. Satyanarayana, Dr. Shanthi Prabha and others participated.
