'Bharat Bandh' has successfully completed and remained peaceful here by all the opposition political parties and other organizations in the district. The opposition parties called this bandh demanding immediate rollback of the Government's decision to allow foreign direct investment in multi-brand retail, limiting the number of subsidised gas cylinders to six and increase in diesel price. Supporting the bandh, all the shops, showrooms, schools, colleges, etc., are closed in the district for the full day. TDP Party members conducted a scooter rally and other parties like BJP, YSRCP, CPI, CPM, etc., are also staged protest in different places in the district. Police arrested 300 members for these agitations in the district and later they have been released by the evening.
