This is managed by Srikiran Institute of ophthalmology which is located in Penumarthi Road, Kakinada from 20 years. Vision centers are established in rural areas in order to take eye care “closer to home” for rural patients. These centers are open six days a week and managed by a senior technician who can provide primary eye care there itself. This will help the rural people to access eye care without traveling long distances.
Vision centers were started in 2006 at four places in East Godavari District for the benefit of the rural populations. They are located in Peddapuram, Tuni, Mandapeta and Jagannaickpur. Through these vision centers we are able to cater a population of 500,000 from that region.
