There are as many as 1693 Religious and Charitable institutions in East Godavari District as published Under Section.6 of the Endowment Act.30/87 and these institutions owns an total extent of Ac.18,300-99 cts of landed property.
According to Section.3 of the Act 30/87, the Government have to appoint Assistant Commissioner for the District Office for the purpose of exercising the powers in relation to Institutions calling under clause.(c) of Section.6 i.e., whose annual income is below 50,000/-.
